Actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s mother, Ata Johnson, was involved in a traumatic car accident in Los Angeles late last night.

Ata, who is 68 years old, was driving her car when she was struck by another vehicle, causing a multi-car pileup. Fortunately, she was able to walk away from the accident with only minor injuries.

Speaking to Fox News, Dwayne credited the ‘angels of mercy’ who were watching over his mother. “My mom is a strong woman and she’s doing OK,” he said. “We’re all so thankful that she’s alive and well.”

Dwayne also said his mother will “continue to get evaluated” and that they are “very blessed” that she was able to survive the accident.

The other drivers involved in the accident were also reported to have suffered only minor injuries.

According to TMZ, the accident is still under investigation and the cause has yet to be determined.
