Electrocution Incident at Florida Fountain Leaves One Dead, Four Injured

JUPITER, FL – A tragic incident at Harbourside Place in Jupiter, Florida, has left one person dead and four others injured due to electrocution in a fountain, according to local first responders.

The emergency call came in around 3:30 p.m., reporting a child in distress in the fountain, which is situated in front of a stage. Upon arrival, authorities discovered several individuals, both adults and children, suffering from electric shock injuries. The Jupiter Police Department and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue were among the first on the scene.

Captain Tom Reyes of the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue commended the swift response from both the police department and local civilians. “Upon our arrival, we found the Jupiter Police Department and civilians already administering aid to the victims. Their quick action was commendable,” Reyes said.

As a precautionary measure, Florida Power & Light cut off power to the area while investigators began their work to uncover the cause of the incident.

The victims, consisting of three minors and two adults, were promptly transported to local hospitals for treatment. Tragically, one of the adult victims succumbed to their injuries on Monday, while the other adult has since been discharged. The three minors remain in the hospital, where they are reported to be in recovery.

The investigation into this tragic incident is still ongoing, according to local police.
