Tech mogul Elon Musk has been the center of controversy yet again as news of Twitter allegedly creating a system to artificially boost his tweets has surfaced.
According to Engadget, the system was created in order to give Musk’s tweets higher visibility on the platform. Platformer also reported that Musk had created a special system to show his tweets first to his followers.
The news of the system has been met with criticism, with Don Lemon of The Hill expressing his concern, saying that it was “frightening” that Musk and Rupert Murdoch, another influential figure, were seen together at the Super Bowl.
The two were seen discussing something in the Super Suite, prompting Gene Therapy columnist for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to comment that it was “a fly on the Super Suite wall”.
The Independent reported that the confab between the two moguls gave the game away, as it was clear that the two had discussed something that would benefit them both.
The news of the system has caused a stir among tech experts and the public alike, as some feel that it is unfair for Musk to be given special treatment.
