MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A man was fatally shot by at least one Murfreesboro police officer during a robbery investigation on Wednesday morning. The incident took place at around 9:15 a.m. in a parking lot in the 400 block of North Thompson Lane.
According to the Murfreesboro police, officers were responding to a robbery of an armored truck at an ATM when a male suspect fled into the nearby Jason’s Deli. A police officer then shot the man, who was subsequently transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The scene has been secured and employees in the shopping center were safely evacuated. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist with the ongoing investigation, and no further information has been released at this time.
