Fatal Shooting at West Covina Liquor Store Leaves Clerk Dead

WEST COVINA, California – A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday night at Big Bob’s Liquor and Market in West Covina as a clerk was shot and killed while confronting two suspected thieves. The shooting occurred around 8:45 p.m. on West Puente Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered the 34-year-old employee outside the store with gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities have determined that two men entered the store and stole merchandise, prompting the clerk to confront them. During the confrontation, at least one of the suspects shot the victim. The two men then fled the scene in a white SUV.
