Fatal Utah House Party Shooting Culprit Receives 18 Years to Life Sentence

Salt Lake City, Utah – Aaron Lowe, a former Utah football player, tragically lost his life at a house party three years ago. Recently, the man responsible for his death, Buk M. Buk, received his sentencing for the crime.

Buk was handed a sentence of 18 years to life for the murder of Lowe, in addition to an extra three years to life for the attempted murder of another woman he shot during the incident. The fatal altercation occurred when Lowe, a former Utes defensive back, asked a friend of Buk to move his car outside the party.

According to court documents, Buk proceeded to open fire on Lowe and the woman even after they had fallen to the ground. While Lowe, aged 21, succumbed to his injuries at the scene, the woman, aged 20, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but managed to survive.

Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill expressed hope that the sentencing would offer some solace to the families of Lowe and the other victim. Originally facing the death penalty, Buk’s plea deal was negotiated with prosecutors and Lowe’s mother to remove that option from the table.

During Buk’s sentencing, Lowe’s mother expressed her lack of forgiveness towards him, stating her wish that he spends the remainder of his life behind bars. The tragic loss of Aaron Lowe continues to resonate within the Salt Lake City community as justice is served in the wake of the devastating event.
