According to the Associated Press, the search was conducted as part of a probe into documents that may have been stolen from the White House.
CBS Miami reported that the FBI were looking for documents that may have been taken from the White House during the Trump administration.

However, Fox News raised the question of why the FBI did not search Biden’s primary residence, which is located just a few miles away from the vacation home.
The Guardian commented that the media was blowing the ‘scandal’ out of proportion, noting that the FBI found no evidence of any wrongdoing.
