Fighter Jet Crashes at Air Show near Willow Run Airport

YPSILANTI, Mich. – A dramatic incident unfolded at the Thunder Over Michigan air show on Sunday when a fighter jet crashed just moments after the two pilots ejected from the aircraft. The air show, which was taking place near Willow Run Airport, showcased various aircraft maneuvers, including the MiG-23 aircraft.

According to a spokesperson for the event, the MiG-23 crashed into the parking lot of the Waverly on the Lake Apartments in Belleville. Miraculously, both pilots ejected safely and have since been located. They were promptly transported to a local hospital where they are expected to recover from any injuries sustained during the incident.

Fortunately, the crash occurred in an unoccupied section of the apartment complex’s parking lot, and no one at the complex or the air show was harmed. In light of the incident, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.

This year marked the 25th year of the Thunder Over Michigan show, which began on Saturday and was scheduled to conclude on Sunday. However, in response to the crash, the show was immediately halted, and spectators were requested to vacate the premises.

As this is a developing story, we will provide updates as further information becomes available.
