MIAMI, FL – A Florida man has been accused of stalking his estranged wife using technology and subsequently attacking her new companion, leading to multiple criminal charges. Andres Felipe Dorado, 39, found himself in custody on May 22 after allegedly confronting his wife and her boyfriend at a Miami hotel.

Authorities say the confrontation began when Dorado, who has been separated from his wife for three months, arrived uninvited at the hotel. The situation escalated, with hotel staff calling the police due to Dorado’s refusal to leave and aggressive behavior.

Court documents outline the allegations, detailing how Dorado’s wife had moved on, engaging in a relationship with another man after separating from Dorado. Upon his arrival at the hotel, Dorado demanded to see his wife, accusing her of infidelity.

In compliance with his demands, Dorado’s wife and her partner met him in the lobby, where tensions quickly boiled over. Reports indicate Dorado attacked the new boyfriend, striking him and using a cutting weapon.

When police responded to the scene, they discovered a knife inside Dorado’s car, supporting allegations of the assault. Adding to the charges, Dorado’s wife revealed to police her discovery of an Apple AirTag in her vehicle, allegedly placed there by Dorado without her knowledge or consent. This finding prompted further investigation.

Witnesses saw Dorado fleeing the scene, clutching what appeared to be a dark object, just as law enforcement arrived. He was subsequently detained and booked into county jail, with bail set at $7,650, which Dorado posted soon after.

During a court appearance, Judge Mindy Glazer imposed a stay-away order, requiring Dorado to avoid contact with both his wife and her new boyfriend. Dorado now faces charges including aggravated battery with a weapon causing significant harm, criminal mischief, and unlawful use of a tracking device.
