OCALA, FL – A Florida woman was sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing her father and attempting to kill her mother after a domestic dispute over her living arrangements. Christina Anne Adams, 33, was handed two consecutive life terms by Judge Timothy McCourt for the murder of her father, Richard Langer, and the attempted murder of her mother, Sally Langer, court officials announced Wednesday.

Following the sentencing, Fifth Judicial Circuit Chief Assistant State Attorney Walter Forgie emphasized the importance of justice, stating, “Our fundamental duty is to seek justice. Today, as challenging as this has been for the victims and their families, I believe we’ve achieved that.”

The tragic incident occurred on September 16, 2022, when deputies from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported stabbing in Ocala. Upon entering the home, located in the 100 block of SE 70th Terrace, officers discovered Richard and Sally Langer with multiple stab wounds.

During initial aid efforts, Richard Langer informed responding officers that his daughter was responsible for their injuries. Authorities quickly issued a bulletin and subsequently conducted a traffic stop on Adams’ vehicle, also occupied by her wife.

Both Adams and her wife were detained. In interviews with law enforcement, Adams’ wife indicated there had been no prior indication of distress or altercation during her errands and her meetup with Adams at a grocery store, according to law enforcement statements.

Authorities revealed discrepancies between Adams’ account and her wife’s statement. During interrogation, Adams confessed that anger over her parents’ request for her to move out led her to retrieve a knife and assault her parents, repeatedly stabbing them.

Adams allegedly attempted to erase evidence of the crime before fleeing the scene, later stopping to change clothes and visit a store. Despite her efforts to hide her actions, Richard Langer was able to identify her as his attacker before succumbing to his injuries.

The case highlights the severe repercussions of violence stemming from familial disputes, with the court’s decision aiming to serve as a landmark for justice and closure for the affected family.
