KISSIMMEE, FL – A Florida woman is facing criminal charges after a violent incident involving her roommate and is under investigation following the death of her teen daughter.
Kelsey Glover, a resident of a home near Kissimmee, was detained after attacking her roommate, Shantee Bryant, with a hammer.
The conflict erupted when Bryant, who was reportedly assisting Glover’s 14-year-old daughter, Giselle, with a bath, prompted Glover to violent behavior. According to the arrest documents, Glover pursued Bryant with a hammer, issuing threats to kill her. Bryant managed to call 911, which led authorities to respond to the residence.
When deputies arrived, they discovered Bryant with injuries consistent with the assault and, tragically, found Giselle unresponsive in the bathtub.
Sheriff Marcos Lopez outlined the circumstances in a press briefing, noting that witnesses provided statements of seeing Glover submerge her daughter’s head underwater. Efforts to intervene failed, leading the witnesses to seek refuge and contact emergency services as Glover allegedly attempted to chase them with the weapon.
Giselle was transported to a nearby medical facility, where she was pronounced dead. The precise cause of her death remains to be officially determined by medical examiners, although a comprehensive homicide inquiry is now underway. Sheriff Lopez expressed his disbelief and sorrow over the situation, describing it as “a dark day.”
In the wake of these events, Glover has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery. She is being held without bail at the Osceola County Jail. As the investigation proceeds, additional charges related to the death of her daughter may be forthcoming.
Community members remain in shock as they grapple with understanding the events that unfolded. The ongoing investigation into the circumstances around the drowning aims to bring clarity and justice for Giselle.
