FORT WORTH, TX – A chilling image shared on social media led police to uncover a horrific crime in Fort Worth, where a man admitted to killing his mother in what he described as an exorcism. Alexander Taylor Valdez, 23, is charged with the murder of his 58-year-old mother, Teresita Sayson, in their Fort Worth home.
The investigation began early Friday when authorities received an anonymous tip regarding a disturbing photo sent through Snapchat. The image reportedly depicted a woman lying on the ground, covered in what appeared to be blood. The caller provided officers with the address linked to Valdez, who allegedly distributed the photo through a group chat.
Upon arriving at the residence on Farmers Branch Street, officers encountered Valdez, who was stained with blood and clutching what seemed to be a Bible. He emerged from the house and, without prompting, declared the act was an exorcism. Valdez then sat on the porch, waiting as officers proceeded with their inquiry.
Officers questioned Valdez about the blood on his body, to which he allegedly confessed to using witchcraft in an attempt to end his mother’s life. He further informed the officers that there was a deceased person inside, claiming it was his mother.
Inside the home, police discovered Sayson’s lifeless body in the master bedroom, displaying significant trauma to her face and upper body. A deceased dog was also found in the room.
The scene included a shattered jewelry box stained with blood and hair believed to belong to Sayson, which investigators suspect was used in the lethal attack. The grim discovery corroborated the content of the image that had circulated among Valdez’s Snapchat acquaintances, showing the victim, the dog, and blood splatter on the room’s walls and floor.
Friends of Valdez, present at the scene, confirmed their receipt of the alarming photo through the social media platform, adding an additional layer of testimony to the chilling series of events. Police detained Valdez at the residence, but he chose to refrain from further discussion and requested legal representation.
Valdez is currently held at the Tarrant County Jail, with bail set at $750,000, as authorities in Tarrant County continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
