Foster mother kidnaps 5-year-old

COLUMBUS, OH – Authorities in Columbus have issued an urgent Amber Alert for five-year-old Darnell Taylor, who was reported missing under suspicious circumstances involving his foster mother, 48-year-old Pammy Maye.

The alarm was raised early Wednesday when Maye’s husband contacted the police around 3 a.m., expressing concern for Darnell’s safety based on disturbing statements made by his wife. The specifics of these statements were not disclosed during a press conference held by Deputy Police Chief Smith Weir, but the situation escalated quickly to a statewide search for the child and Maye.

Maye, described as approximately 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 115 pounds, was last seen donning a floral nightgown with pink shoes. She reportedly was driving a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, a vehicle authorities later found abandoned in Brooklyn, Ohio, adding a layer of complexity to the whereabouts of both Maye and the young boy.

The young boy, Darnell, may be in clothing that makes him easily recognizable – Spider-Man pajamas and white boots – based on the last known information provided by the police.

Law enforcement officials are urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the safe return of Darnell Taylor. The community is on high alert, with investigators working tirelessly to follow every lead in the hope of a positive resolution to this critical case.

As this situation remains active, updates will be provided based on new information as the search for Darnell Taylor continues.
