A mass shooting in Henry County has claimed the lives of at least four people, as authorities intensify their search for the gunman. The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the town of Hampton, Georgia, leaving three male adults and one female adult dead. The victims have not yet been identified, and the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.

Henry County Sheriff Reginald Scandrett addressed the media, vowing to apprehend the perpetrator, stating, “Wherever you are, we will hunt you down in whatever hole you may be hiding in and bring you into custody. Period.” The suspect has been identified as 40-year-old Andre Longmore, who is considered armed and dangerous. Four warrants have been issued for his arrest.

Hampton Police Department Chief James Turner expressed his condolences to the community, saying, “This is a sad day in Hampton. It’s not normal for us, and as a community, we will grieve together. As a police department, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the person is brought to justice.” A reward of $10,000 has been offered for information leading to the capture of Mr. Longmore.

Described as approximately five feet ten inches tall, the suspect was last seen wearing a dark shirt with a red tone. He was driving a black 2017 GMC Arcadia with the license plate number DHF756. Melissa Robinson, a spokesperson for the county government, confirmed the death toll and emphasized that the suspect is still at large.

Hampton, a city with a population of 8,500 residents, is located approximately an hour south of Atlanta, Georgia. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Henry County Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Henry County Homeland Security, and the Henry County Crime Scene Unit, are assisting the Hampton police in their investigation. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has also been notified.

Hampton Mayor Ann Tarpley expressed her sorrow and promised justice for the victims, stating, “Today is a sad and somber occasion. We ask that you lift up the families and the victims in your prayers, your thoughts, and that you give them the privacy that they may need to overcome this horrific tragedy. We have full confidence in our law enforcement that they will perform their duties and bring the suspect to justice.”
