Husband illegally buys $6000 in air fresheners and cleaning supplies on wife’s card after she goes missing

CLYMAN, WI – A 42-year-old man has been arrested in Clyman, Wisconsin, in connection with the disappearance of his estranged wife after he was found to have made suspicious purchases totaling approximately $6,000 on her credit cards. Authorities detained Zachariah Rasch, whose 37-year-old wife, Crystal Rasch, has been missing since last month.

Crystal Rasch was reported missing by a concerned relative on June 23, after her car was sighted parked at her rural home, and she could not be reached by phone. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office indicated that deputies responded to the stepmother’s call about her disappearance, noting that the woman had not been seen since June 11.

In a significant development, Dodge County deputies apprehended Zachariah Rasch on Friday when an investigation revealed that he had been using her credit cards without authorization to purchase an array of cleaning supplies. He is currently facing eight charges pertaining to the unauthorized use of personal identifying information.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office disclosed in a statement that while the ongoing investigation primarily focuses on locating Crystal Rasch, the evidence surfacing leads them to also treat the situation as a potentially serious felony.

Through their inquiry, detectives asserted that Zachariah Rasch had acquired numerous cleaning products, including gloves, drain and carpet cleaners, car and floor cleaners, air fresheners, and a drain opener. Initially denying the use of his wife’s credit cards for these purchases, Rasch confessed to the crime upon being confronted with surveillance evidence, according to a criminal complaint.

The investigation also turned up more than $3,000 in cash during a search of Rasch’s residence. Further probing involved tracking Crystal Rasch’s two cellphones, with one phone leading authorities to a car registered in her name at a relative’s home of her husband. This vehicle has been impounded for processing. The last known location of the second phone was traced to the vicinity of Juneau, Wisconsin, on June 8.

Zachariah Rasch remains in custody at the Dodge County Jail with the bond set at $250,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for the upcoming Wednesday. As this complex case unfolds, the search for Crystal Rasch continues, with authorities appealing to the public for any information that may lead to her whereabouts.
