iMessage on Android: Nothing Phone 2 Owners Get Blue Bubbles Now – Here’s What You Need to Know Before Trying It Out

London, England – Nothing Phone 2 owners are in for a treat with the addition of iMessage to their devices through the new “Nothing Chats” app, powered by Sunbird. This move by the company aims to break down barriers caused by messaging services, as stated on their website.

Users in North America, the EU, and other European countries will have access to this feature starting this Friday, November 17th. However, this integration comes with the requirement of giving Sunbird access to users’ iCloud accounts, raising concerns about privacy and security.

Although the feature works “for the most part,” according to The Washington Post, some advanced iMessage features may not be fully supported, and group chats could be limited if not all participants are on iMessage. Users can expect features like message editing, Tapback reactions, and group chats to undergo improvements over time.

The initiative by Nothing has sparked interest and discussions, with Sunbird CEO Danny Mizrahi stating that access to Sunbird is currently limited to Nothing Phone 2 owners for the next few months. This move may also prompt a response from Apple, as the EU is currently investigating whether iMessage should be designated as an Apple “core platform service.”

As of now, Apple has not yet commented on Nothing’s plans, but the integration of iMessage on the Nothing Phone 2 is expected to draw attention and may lead to further developments in the messaging app landscape.
