Jewelry Store Owner Peter Damian Arguello Killed in Attempted Robbery, Suspect Truck Found, Police Seek Information

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – Police in Wheat Ridge, Colorado are continuing their search for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a local business owner earlier this week. The victim, identified as Peter Damian Arguello, was killed in what authorities believe may have been a robbery at his jewelry and antiques store on 38th Avenue.

According to authorities, Arguello was shot and killed at around 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a red 2003-2007 Chevy Silverado, which police believe they have now located. Police have released images of the suspect’s truck, but have refrained from sharing further details about the ongoing investigation to maintain its integrity.

The shooting has left the community shaken, with one local business owner, Lori Doyle, expressing her grief at the loss of her friend and neighbor. Doyle recounted being inside her salon when she heard gunshots and rushed outside to find Arguello lying on the ground. She immediately called 911 upon discovering his body.
