Jones College Student Arrested in Connection to Shooting Death of Jackson State University Student

PINE BELT, Miss. – A Jones College student was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of a Jackson State University student. The arrest warrant for 19-year-old Joshua Brown was confirmed by Hinds County Circuit Clerk Zack Wallace. Brown was apprehended by campus police at Jones College and subsequently handed over to the JSU Police Department.

According to an affidavit, Brown faces charges of murdering 21-year-old Jaylen Burns, who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident at University Pointe Apartments on Sunday night.
