Philadelphia, PA – Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in the show’s final episode before Election Day. Harris offered advice to her fictional self portrayed by actress Maya Rudolph, saying, “You got this.”
The skit began with a parody of CNN’s “The Source with Kaitlan Collins” featuring a spoof of former President Donald Trump, followed by a backstage scene at a fictional Harris rally in Philadelphia.
During the show, Rudolph’s character expressed a desire to speak with someone who understood her experience as a Black, South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area. Harris, mimicked by Rudolph, then provided words of encouragement, highlighting their shared experiences.
The vice president’s appearance on the comedy show aligns with her campaign’s efforts to engage with voters through various media platforms. In recent weeks, Harris has participated in interviews with personalities like Alex Cooper of “Call Her Daddy” and radio host Charlemagne Tha God, as she faces a tight race with Trump leading up to Election Day.
Following her cameo on SNL, Harris described the experience as “fun” to reporters, adding a light-hearted touch to her campaign efforts amidst a fierce electoral battle.
