San Francisco, CA – The trial of David DePape, who is accused of breaking into Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco home, assaulting her husband with a hammer, and attempting to kidnap her, began on Thursday. Prosecutors claim that DePape assaulted 82-year-old Paul Pelosi just days before the midterm elections, causing shockwaves in the political world. DePape’s trial opened with his plea of not guilty to charges of attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on the immediate family member of a federal official.
