Luxurious Electric Mercedes G-Wagen Unveiled: The Ultimate Off-Roading Experience with Zero Emissions!

Los Angeles, CA – Mercedes-Benz unveils the luxurious fully electric G-Wagen, catering to those with a taste for off-roading in style. The electric SUV boasts a 116 kWh battery, all-electric drive train, and four individually controlled motors, delivering an impressive output equivalent to 580 horsepower and 1,164 Newton-meters of torque.

Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius describes the electric G-Wagen as the “Birkin bag of Mercedes,” highlighting its desirability and popularity. However, luxury comes at a price, with the electric G-Wagen starting at €142,621.50 ($152,184.27) and the exclusive first edition trim at €192,524.15 ($205,432.89).

Built on a ladder frame concept, the G 580 combines off-road functionality with sleek design. The electric SUV offers a range of 473 km on the WLTP standard and features innovative technologies like the G-Turn for sharp rotations and an off-road crawl function for uneven terrains.

To ensure optimal performance and safety while off-roading, the electric G-Wagen is equipped with underbody protection and a unique skid plate made from carbon. The vehicle also incorporates a fake engine noise, known as G-Roar, which simulates the sounds of a traditional V8 engine.

Despite its off-road capabilities, the electric G-Wagen does not compromise on performance, reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 180 km/h. The exterior maintains the iconic design of the gas-powered G-Wagens, with illuminated accents and aerodynamic enhancements.

Inside, the electric G-Wagen features a blend of luxury and functionality, with carbon fiber accents, physical buttons, and an advanced MBUX infotainment system. Rear-seat passengers can enjoy personalized entertainment on 11.6-inch touchscreens mounted on the front seats.

The electric G-Wagen marks Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to electrification, aligning with the industry’s shift towards sustainable mobility. While the SUV may cater to a niche market of luxury off-road enthusiasts, it signifies a broader trend towards electric luxury vehicles in the automotive industry.
