Man Arrested in Mexico for 2019 Homicide of 18-Year-Old Woman in Tracy

TRACY, Calif. – A man suspected of the 2019 death of a woman in Tracy has been apprehended in Mexico and is awaiting extradition, according to local authorities. Antonio Flores-Cuellar was arrested by a U.S. Marshals Service team on Thursday for the killing of 18-year-old Andrea Cervantes on June 22, 2019.

Police responded to a 911 call on the night of the incident and discovered Cervantes deceased inside an apartment. Detectives determined she was the victim of a homicide based on evidence found at the scene. During the investigation, Flores-Cuellar, then 41 years old, was identified as the suspect in the killing. Authorities also revealed that the victim and the suspect were familiar with each other.

Following his arrest, Flores-Cuellar was booked into a jail in Mexico, where he awaits extradition to the United States. It is unclear when he will be brought back to face charges in connection with Cervantes’ death.
