“Maryland women’s basketball team takes on undefeated South Carolina in Elite Eight showdown”

March Madness has taken over the world of basketball this month, and the NCAA Women’s Tournament is no exception. In the Elite Eight matchup, South Carolina came into the game riding a 41-game win streak, facing off against Maryland for a chance to advance to the Final Four.

South Carolina started the game off strong, but Maryland refused to back down. The game remained close throughout, with each team exchanging leads. In the end, it was Maryland who was able to pull off the upset, beating South Carolina 85-80.

The Terps were led by their star player, Angel Reese, who scored a team-high 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Maryland also had contributions from Diamond Miller and Katie Benzan, who each had 17 points.

South Carolina’s Aliyah Boston had an impressive game with 28 points and 16 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win for the Gamecocks.

Maryland will now advance to the Final Four and face off against either UConn or Baylor. The Terps will look to continue their impressive run and compete for the national championship.
