Max Verstappen Defends Late-Night Sim Racing Amid Controversy – Red Bull Fires Back!

Budapest, Hungary – Red Bull has dismissed claims linking Max Verstappen’s frustrations during the Hungarian Grand Prix to his late-night sim racing session. Critics criticized Verstappen for his aggressive behavior on the track, where he voiced displeasure with the team’s strategy and car’s performance. In response to critics, Verstappen defiantly stated, “They can all go away.”

Despite speculation that Verstappen’s late-night sim racing affected his performance at the Grand Prix, Red Bull believes it did not contribute to the outcome. Red Bull’s motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko, defended Verstappen’s unconventional sleeping patterns and emphasized that the driver knows how to prepare himself for races effectively.

Team principal Christian Horner expressed confidence in Verstappen’s judgment and acknowledged the need for internal discussions following the incident. While not alarmed by Verstappen’s behavior before the race, Red Bull hinted at addressing his radio ranting in private discussions. Horner clarified that comments made by Verstappen’s engineer were not directed at the driver and highlighted the importance of finding ways to improve performance as a team.

Marko suggested taking time to let emotions settle before addressing the matter internally, emphasizing the team’s commitment to continuous improvement. Horner echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the team’s collective effort to enhance performance. He underlined the importance of constructive dialogue within the team to address any shortcomings and move forward in a positive direction.
