Miami woman finds out boyfriend is sleeping with her sister and stabs him

MIAMI, FL – A Miami woman is in custody after authorities say she stabbed the father of her child multiple times upon discovering he was involved with her sister, according to police.

The incident unfolded just after midnight on April 28, 2025, at an apartment complex located on NW 177th Street. Police were called to the scene after neighbors reported what sounded like gunshots coming from a first-floor unit. When officers arrived, they noticed blood splattered on the apartment’s front door.

After repeated attempts to get a response from inside, officers forced entry, given the urgent circumstances. Inside, they found a man with several visible cuts and scrapes, as well as significant amounts of blood on the floor, investigators reported.

The injured man, who identified himself as the suspect’s former partner and father of her child, told police he never heard them knocking. He recounted that he and Jaqueline Rodriguez, 41, had gotten into a violent altercation after she became enraged upon learning of his relationship with her sister.

According to police records, during the confrontation, Rodriguez allegedly brandished a knife and stabbed him repeatedly. The victim characterized the attack as both unexpected and unprovoked, but later declined to make a formal sworn statement about the events.

Authorities documented his injuries with photographs as part of their investigation. Based on the victim’s account and their own observations, officers concluded that Rodriguez sought to inflict serious harm and possible lasting injury.

Rodriguez was taken into custody around 1 a.m., facing charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm. In addition to the stabbing allegations, police say she is also implicated in an unrelated incident involving burglary and grand theft, stemming from a reported theft of $14,000 in property from a vehicle after a car crash approximately three months before the latest arrest.

The circumstances surrounding the timeline of Rodriguez’s apprehension remain unclear, particularly why it took nearly a year from the alleged stabbing to her arrest.

Rodriguez is currently being held without bond at Miami-Dade Corrections as the case awaits further proceedings.
