Former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has dismissed claims made in a new book by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo that she plotted with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner to become Vice President.
In the book, Pompeo alleges that Haley, Ivanka, and Kushner were trying to boot Vice President Mike Pence from the 2020 ticket. This was quickly denied by Kellyanne Conway, a former senior advisor to President Donald Trump, who said in an interview with Fox News that the claims were “absolutely false.”
Haley responded to the allegations in a statement, saying, “It is no surprise that the Secretary of State would make false accusations about me in order to sell his book. His claims are simply lies and gossip.”
The allegations have caused a rift between Haley and Pompeo, who worked together in the Trump administration.
The controversy comes as Pompeo’s book, “The Education of Mike Pompeo,” is set to be released next week. The book is expected to shed light on Pompeo’s tenure as Secretary of State and his relationship with President Trump.
