Two Indian Air Force aircraft crashed in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday, leaving two pilots dead and one ejected safely.
The aircraft, a Sukhoi-30 and a Mirage 2000, collided mid-air in the Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. According to Morena Collector, both pilots from the Sukhoi-30 were ejected safely from the aircraft.
The Mirage 2000 had only one pilot, who was killed in the crash. “The aircrafts were flying in the same direction and collided mid-air,” said a Defence Ministry official.
The crash site is located in a densely populated area, and local authorities are working to evacuate the area. A team of experts from the Indian Air Force has been sent to the crash site to investigate the incident.
The cause of the crash is yet to be determined, however, according to sources, the aircrafts were part of a routine training exercise.
