Murder at Arkansas State Park: Manhunt for Suspect After Family Hiking Tragedy Unfolds!

WEST FORK, Ark. — A couple was tragically murdered while hiking at Devil’s Den State Park on Saturday, prompting a manhunt for the suspect, identified as a white male who remains at large. The couple’s two daughters, aged 7 and 9, fortunately escaped unharmed and are now safe with relatives.

Arkansas State Police reported that Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, were attacked around 2:40 p.m. on a popular walking trail in the park, situated in a remote area of Washington County. This location, known for its rugged beauty, lacks cellphone service, complicating communication and aid.

According to authorities, the suspect was seen wearing dark clothing, including long sleeves rolled up, a dark ball cap, and sunglasses. He was also noted to be wearing fingerless gloves and toting a black backpack. Witnesses reported that he was last seen driving a black four-door sedan, which could be a Mazda, with its license plate obscured by tape.

Law enforcement is urging anyone who visited the park on Saturday to check their belongings for any photographs or video footage that could assist in identifying the suspect. Local residents are also being asked to review any game or security camera recordings for potential sightings of the individual.

Arkansas State Police Colonel Mike Hagar emphasized the commitment to bringing the suspect to justice. “We are using all available resources to apprehend this suspect,” he stated. The investigation into the motives behind the killings continues, as officials focus on piecing together the circumstances leading to the attack.

In response to this harrowing incident, authorities have increased their presence in state parks across Arkansas, ensuring heightened security for visitors in the wake of the tragedy. The community is urged to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement in their efforts to resolve the situation effectively.

As the investigation unfolds, police have advised the public to refrain from sharing any potential evidence on social media, instead directing tips to Arkansas State Police Troop L at (479) 751-6663. The swift action and cooperation of the community are critical in the ongoing search for the perpetrator.
