Murder Suspect in Tupac Shakur Case Delays Plea as Legal Representation Remains Unsettled

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Duane “Keffe D” Davis, the suspect charged with the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur in 1996, appeared in court in Las Vegas on Thursday but did not enter a plea. The reason for the delay was due to his legal representation not being settled.

Davis, who now has attorney Ross Goodman representing him, requested a two-week delay to confirm counsel. However, Judge Tierra Jones stated that if they are not ready by November 2nd, a public defender will be appointed.

Judge Jones emphasized the need to move the case forward, stating, “In two weeks, we’re going to get this case moving.” This is the second time Davis’ arraignment has been delayed due to a lack of legal counsel.

Goodman, a well-known criminal defense attorney in Las Vegas, has strong ties to the city. His mother, Carolyn Goodman, is the current third-term mayor of Las Vegas, and his father, Oscar B. Goodman, served three terms as the city’s mayor.

The case involving Davis and the murder of Tupac Shakur continues to garner attention. It is anticipated that the next court appearance on November 2nd will shed more light on the progress of the case.
