Neighbor Halts Knife Attack Using Leaf Blower

MILFORD, CT – In an act of heroism, a Connecticut man intervened during a perilous knife attack in his neighborhood, using a leaf blower to stop the assailant in his tracks. Authorities reported the assailant as 66-year-old Kevin Conway, who allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times before being halted by the quick-thinking neighbor.

On November 25, Milford Police responded to an emergency call on Greer Circle, discovering a woman with severe stab wounds to her upper body. Subsequent investigation revealed a harrowing tale of marital violence that spilled into the street.

The victim, having sustained multiple stab wounds at the hands of her husband, sought refuge with a neighbor. With nowhere else to turn, she exclaimed that her life was in immediate danger. Conway, undeterred, pursued her while armed with three knives, according to law enforcement.

Confronted by a neighbor, Conway repeatedly refused to lay down his weapons, allegedly uttering threats to both his wife and himself. In a dramatic turn of events, the first neighbor, engaged in yard work at the time, wielded his leaf blower as a defensive tool, striking Conway and effectively stopping the attack.

Police arrived at a chaotic scene where the victim was hiding behind the neighbor for protection. Their quick intervention led to the arrest of Conway and medical attention for both the attacker and victim, whose injuries were reported as significant.

The victim recounted a frightening sequence where Conway’s aggression escalated to threats of murder after a contentious verbal exchange. Authorities later discovered that alcohol and prescription medication might have played a role in Conway’s violent behavior.

Currently held on a $75,000 bond, Conway faces charges of first-degree assault, attempted murder, violation of a protective order, and second-degree threatening. His criminal history includes a prior arrest for assault against the same victim, after which a protective order was issued.
