LISBON, OH – A man from Ohio faces a potential life sentence for the brutal murder of his wife, whose dismembered body was found concealed in garbage bags on their property.
Christopher M. Morrison, 35, has been sentenced for multiple charges, including murder and gross abuse of a corpse, in connection with the death of his wife, 34-year-old Tiffany Morrison. Columbiana County Prosecutor Vito J. Abruzzino stated Tuesday that Morrison will be eligible for parole after serving 25 years following his guilty plea last month.
“The brutality of this crime is beyond comprehension,” said Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Weikart. “After shooting Tiffany in the head, he moved her body to a shed, concealed the scene, and patched up the shower. This act was heinous and shows a profound lack of remorse.”
The emotional toll of the crime was made evident during the trial. Tiffany’s mother, Ruth Mahley, spoke about the devastating impact of her daughter’s murder. “Our lives were shattered. The anger, hurt, and disbelief were unimaginable. I often find myself dialing Tiffany’s number, only to remember painfully that I will never hear her voice again,” Mahley said.
Christopher Morrison, addressing the court, expressed deep remorse. “Our children now have to move forward without either of us. There is nothing I regret more. I will be sorry for this until my last breath,” he said.
Judge Megan Bickerton of the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court delivered a harsh rebuke. “Your actions were arrogant, selfish, and demeaning to a woman who lost her life. This was not the behavior of a loving husband; it was the reaction of a monster trying to get away with murder,” she told Morrison.
According to authorities, Tiffany Morrison died from a single gunshot wound to the head on December 18, 2023. At the time of the murder, three young children and a 63-year-old woman were present in the home. Investigators revealed that, following the crime, Christopher Morrison purchased tools and materials, including a saw, blades, rubbing alcohol, and trash bags, to dismember and hide his wife’s body, attempting to elude law enforcement.
Despite struggling with marital issues, the couple continued to live together. During a hearing in July 2024, Morrison admitted to the crime, responding affirmatively when Assistant Prosecutor Steve Yacovone asked if he knew where his wife was and that he had shot, dismembered, and hidden her body.
