Orlando Shooting Leaves One Dead and Three Injured; Suspect with Criminal History in Custody

ORLANDO, Fla. – A shooting incident in Orlando has resulted in one fatality and left three others injured. The suspect, Delray Duncan Jr., has been taken into custody by the authorities. Prior to this incident, Duncan Jr. had a history of criminal charges, including battery on a juvenile detention staff member in 2018.

In March 2020, Duncan Jr. was arrested again, this time for robbery with a firearm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possessing a firearm as a convicted felon, and grand theft in the third degree. The Orlando police are currently searching for additional individuals connected to the shooting that occurred on Friday.

The incident took place around 2:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Mercy Drive. Notably, each victim was found at different locations. The first victim was discovered at the apartment complex and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.

During the investigation, the police received information about a possible suspect vehicle that had fled the scene. Authorities initiated a pursuit that concluded on Old Winter Garden Road and Duncan Place. At this location, a black Chevy sedan with significant front-end damage and what appeared to be blood stains was found. The second gunshot victim was discovered here and immediately taken to the hospital.

Furthermore, the third victim was dropped off at ORMC, while the fourth victim was later found at Advent South. Unfortunately, twenty-two-year-old Macayla Queen Patterson, one of the victims, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The remaining three victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
