Paramount+ Developing Series ‘Happy Face’ Spotlighting Life of Serial Killer Keith Hunter Jesperson, Starring Dennis Quaid

Los Angeles, California – Paramount+ is currently in the works on a new series titled Happy Face, focusing on the life of serial killer Keith Hunter Jesperson. Reports indicate that actor Dennis Quaid will take on the lead role in the upcoming show. Jesperson, also known as the Happy Face Killer, was responsible for eight confirmed murders during the 1990s, although some suspect his total victims may be as high as 160.

Jesperson, who worked as a truck driver, traveled across multiple states, including Washington, Oregon, Wyoming, Nebraska, California, and Florida, where he carried out his killings. The series will shed light on the dark and troubling life of a man who terrorized multiple communities during his crime spree.

One of the chilling aspects of the story involves Jesperson’s daughter, Melissa Moore, who only discovered the truth about her father’s heinous crimes when she was 15 years old. Moore later went on to publish a book, Shattered Silence: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer’s Daughter, in 2009, delving into her life with her parents prior to their divorce in 1990.

Despite Jesperson’s towering stature of six feet, six inches, which made it easier for him to overpower his victims, he was eventually apprehended and is currently serving three consecutive life sentences in an Oregon state penitentiary since 1995. The series aims to explore the impact of his crimes on his family members, especially his daughter, Melissa.

Melissa, who is now a mother herself, continues to grapple with the repercussions of her father’s actions. Through her book and advocacy work, she seeks to support others who have found themselves in similar situations, offering understanding and comfort to those who have also been affected by the actions of loved ones involved in heinous crimes.

In a society where stigma often surrounds individuals connected to notorious criminals, Melissa’s efforts to de-stigmatize her own experience and provide solace to others demonstrate a profound sense of resilience and compassion. Her willingness to share her story has resonated with numerous individuals who have reached out seeking guidance and support, highlighting the importance of empathy and understanding in the face of trauma.
