As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare to face the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game, all eyes are on star quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his ankle injury.
Mahomes was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and is expected to start on Sunday.
Head coach Andy Reid said in a press conference on Wednesday that Mahomes was feeling good and is ready to go.
Mahomes himself said he was “ready to go” for the AFC title game.
The injury first occurred in the Divisional Round game against the Cleveland Browns when Mahomes was tackled on a scramble. He was able to finish the game and put up a great performance.
The Chiefs Kingdom has come together to help Mahomes out. After the game, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce asked fans to help him find the touchdown ball thrown to Chad Henne. The ball was eventually found and returned to Kelce.
It’s clear that the Chiefs are a team and the fans are behind them as they look to make a run at the Super Bowl.
