Pensacola, Florida – A 54-year-old man from Pensacola will serve 25 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to producing child pornography, announced Jason R. Coody, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida yesterday. Joseph T. Holbert was sentenced for his crimes after he was discovered filming two young girls, aged 8 and 9, undressing in an outdoor shower using a hidden camera.
Coody emphasized the gravity of crimes against children, stating, “Those who produce child pornography facilitate the abuse of children, robbing them of their innocence.” The U.S. Attorney expressed his commitment to partnering with law enforcement agencies to bring justice to those engaging in such heinous conduct.
Law enforcement officers became aware of Holbert’s behavior and swiftly acted, confiscating the hidden cameras and his cell phone. After conducting a thorough forensic examination, authorities confirmed that he was producing the child pornography for his own pleasure.
As part of his sentence, Holbert will be subjected to a lifetime of federal supervised release and will be registered as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting children from exploitation and abuse. Coody’s statement reflects the determination to tirelessly investigate and prosecute individuals involved in such reprehensible behavior.
In summary, a Florida man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for producing child pornography in Pensacola.
