Remembering Bray Wyatt: WWE Stars Honor Late Wrestler with Symbolic Tattoos

Wrestling stars in the WWE paid tribute to Bray Wyatt, also known as Windham Rotunda, by getting his “Firefly” logo tattooed on them. The unexpected death of Wyatt at the age of 36 due to complications from COVID-19 deeply affected his peers, who wanted to permanently honor his memory. Wrestlers Braun Strowman, Karrion Kross, and Shotz, as well as Rob Fee – WWE’s head of long-term creative – were seen in photos posted by Kross’ wife Scarlet on Instagram, getting the tattoo at an Indiana tattoo parlor.

Bray Wyatt, the son of wrestling legend Mike Rotunda, had a significant impact on the wrestling industry. He was a three-time world champion in WWE and was known for his innovative storytelling and use of visual effects. Wyatt joined WWE in 2009 for developmental purposes and became a mainstay on the main roster from 2012 until his release in 2021. During his final run, he portrayed the characters of “Firefly Funhouse” and The Fiend, which garnered significant attention from fans.

In addition to the tribute tattoos, WWE paid homage to Wyatt and the legendary Terry Funk on an emotional episode of Smackdown from Lousiville, Kentucky. The show opened with Wyatt’s famous rocking chair left alone on the stage in a spotlight and closed with his signature lantern lit in the ring.

Despite his untimely passing, Bray Wyatt’s impact on the wrestling world will not be forgotten. His creativity and dedication to pushing boundaries in storytelling will continue to inspire future wrestlers and entertain fans for years to come. The WWE stars who chose to honor him with tattoos have created a lasting reminder of his contributions to the industry.
