Conroe, Texas — A 15-year-old girl was rescued on Christmas Day by her father after she was abducted at knifepoint, local authorities reported. The incident unfolded shortly before 5 p.m. when the girl did not return home after walking her dog.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies were summoned to the family residence and quickly learned about the child’s whereabouts through her father, who utilized parental controls to track her phone. The search led him to a secluded area approximately two miles from their home, where he discovered his daughter and her pet inside a maroon pickup truck with a man who was partially undressed.

Upon finding his daughter, the father managed to help her escape from the vehicle and swiftly returned home, where they contacted law enforcement. Investigators later determined that the suspect, identified as 23-year-old Giovanni Rosales Espinoza, had threatened the teenager with a knife.

Following witness descriptions, police were able to identify Espinoza and apprehended him without incident. He has been charged with aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child and is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail without bond. Authorities confirm that the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities reported that the young girl is now recovering at home with her family. In a community overshadowed by the incident, the family expressed their relief that their daughter is safe and stated that they were unaware of their daughter’s abductor prior to the confrontation.
