Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been fined for not wearing a seatbelt in the back of a car. The incident occurred while Sunak was travelling to the north of England in an effort to try and woo the public with his ‘levelling up’ scheme.
The ‘levelling up’ scheme was launched by Prime Minister Boris Johnson in an effort to reduce the economic gap between the north and south of England. However, the scheme has not been as successful as hoped and has been criticised by many.

Sunak has since apologised for not wearing a seatbelt and has promised to take more care in the future.
