Samsung Galaxy S24 Lineup Rumored to Feature Flat Frame Design, iPhone 15 Pro Resemblance, and Ultra Wideband Antenna – Big Changes Ahead!

BARCELONA, Spain – Samsung’s Galaxy S24 lineup is rumored to undergo significant design changes, potentially taking inspiration from the iPhone 15 Pro. The flagship phone may adopt a flat frame design with rounded edges, resembling its Apple counterpart. Additionally, the Galaxy S24 is speculated to feature a cutout on the right side for an Ultra Wideband (UWB) antenna, a first for Samsung’s baby flagship.

Rumors surrounding the S24 and S24+ models suggest upgrades such as a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, improved image quality, brighter displays, and slightly larger batteries. Samsung’s Galaxy S23 series was praised for its user-friendly improvements, earning it a spot on the list of top Android phones in 2023.

As attention turns to the Galaxy S24 lineup in 2024, preliminary reports have focused on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is said to adopt a flat display and a 5x periscope shooter. However, leaked renders have now revealed the design of the baby Galaxy S24. Renderings shared by @OnLeaks and SmartPrix indicate a switch to a flat frame design with rounded edges, potentially offering improved ergonomics for users. Nonetheless, the design may bear striking similarities to the iPhone 15 Pro.

The leaked renderings also showcase a cutout on the right side of the phone, speculated to be for the UWB antenna. Notably, this would mark the first time Samsung includes support for UWB on its baby flagship. It is worth mentioning that Apple employs a similar design feature for its iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro series, using the cutout for the mmWave chip.

Furthermore, rumors suggest that Samsung may adopt titanium railings on the Galaxy S24 to provide a more premium feel. This design choice may have necessitated the inclusion of an RF window in the phone’s frame. On the rear, the Galaxy S24 reportedly maintains a similar design to its predecessor, with three separate camera lenses, protruding camera rings, and an LED flash.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy S24 is expected to feature a slightly larger display, measuring 6.17 inches, in comparison to the 6.1-inch panel of the S23. Consequently, the phone’s dimensions are projected to be 147 x 70.5 x 7.6 mm, making it slightly taller and less wide than its predecessor, which measures 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6 mm.

According to recent reports, the Galaxy S24 could be one of the first Android flagship launches of 2024. Samsung is said to be considering an announcement date as early as January 18, 2024, to counteract the high demand for new iPhones. While there have been conflicting rumors regarding the use of Samsung’s Exynos SoC in certain regions, there is currently no clarity on the matter.

In terms of camera capabilities, both the S24 and S24+ are expected to retain the 50MP triple-camera setup. However, they will be equipped with a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a newer ISP, promising improved image quality. The phones may also offer brighter displays and slightly larger batteries to enhance their overall performance.
