CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — A tragic shooting at a popular lounge left three individuals dead and eight others injured early Sunday morning. The incident took place shortly before 3:30 a.m. at the Taste of the City lounge, located on Franklin Avenue.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire. Upon arrival, officers encountered a chaotic scene with numerous victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The injured included eight men and three women, ranging in age from 27 to 61. Tragically, three male victims were declared dead at the site of the violence.

The remaining injured party members have been transported to hospitals, where they are being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, according to local law enforcement. The police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, which was allegedly sparked by a dispute among patrons inside the crowded venue.

Authorities noted that multiple shooters appeared to be involved, and preliminary investigations revealed at least 36 shell casings recovered from the area. Despite the ongoing investigation, no suspects have been taken into custody at this time.

Detectives are actively reviewing security footage from cameras positioned both inside and outside the lounge as part of their inquiry. In a separate development, a firearm was found near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway. Investigators are assessing whether this weapon is linked to the shooting incident.

Officials indicated that the Taste of the City lounge had previously experienced a non-fatal shooting incident in November 2024, raising concerns about safety in the establishment. The local community is grappling with the shocks of this violence as residents call for increased security measures and accountability.
