Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the shooting death of Los Angeles Bishop David O’Connell.
According to police, O’Connell, who served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles, was shot to death near Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Sources have said that a California man wanted in connection with the murder was taken into custody on Thursday.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, but police say that he is being held on suspicion of murder.

O’Connell, who was well-known in the Los Angeles area, had served as Auxiliary Bishop since 2017.
