Teen Killed, Another Injured In Thanksgiving Stabbing Incident

NEW YORK, NY – A teenager lost his life and another young man was wounded in a stabbing incident in New York City’s Chinatown during the early hours of Thanksgiving. Authorities are investigating the altercation that took place outside an entertainment venue.

Both victims, a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man, sustained stab injuries to the torso following a dispute with another group around 1:50 a.m. in front of 96 Lafayette Street. Despite rapid emergency response, the teenager succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital, according to the New York Police Department.

The 19-year-old, hospitalized at Bellevue with non-life-threatening injuries, is reported to be in stable condition. Officials have yet to release the identities of the victims as the investigation proceeds.

Sources familiar with the case informed that the sharp object used in the assault wasn’t an axe, although the incident occurred outside Live Axe, a bar known for axe-throwing activities. Thus far, authorities have not provided details regarding the genesis of the conflict or whether the youths were patrons of the establishment.

Police cordoned off the scene to collect evidence subsequent to the altercation. Local media footage revealed a significant law enforcement presence in the aftermath of the stabbing.

While several individuals were reportedly detained by police following the event, no arrests have been made, and the search for the suspect or suspects continues. Motives for this violent episode remain unexplained as detectives delve into this ongoing case.
