Teen shoots his ex-girlfriend’s mom in the head after getting dumped

HOMESTEAD, FL – A 16-year-old has been arrested in Homestead, Florida, for the premeditated murder of his ex-girlfriend’s mother in what appears to be a case of revenge. The incident, which took place last week, resulted in the death of 38-year-old Eulalia Gonzalez Martin De Osorio, who was shot on her own front porch.

Eli Zachary Shinhoster, the accused, is facing charges of first-degree murder and illegal firearm possession by a minor. Gonzalez was attacked on Thursday evening and succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head.

The arrest was made following the gathering of testimony and evidence, including surveillance footage that captured the events leading to the violent act. It has been reported that Shinhoster carried out the attack because he could not accept the end of his relationship with Gonzalez’s daughter.

On the evening of June 27, around 7:40 p.m., the Homestead Police Department, along with emergency services, rushed to Gonzalez’s residence after receiving a distress call. Responders found a grievous scene where Gonzalez had been shot. Tragically, she was holding her one-month-old baby when she was struck, but the child was miraculously unharmed in the incident.

Gonzalez was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries. Neighbors and eyewitnesses provided chilling details of the moments leading up to the shooting, claiming to have heard Shinhoster utter threatening words before firing the fatal shot.

Law enforcement spent the following days piecing together Shinhoster’s movements. After obtaining video footage that showed Shinhoster at the scene and witnesses identifying him as the assailant, the police managed to track him down to his residence in southwest Miami-Dade.

Upon interrogation, Shinhoster confessed to the cold-blooded murder, claiming his motive was to cause harm to his ex-girlfriend through her family as revenge for their breakup. He detailed how he had armed himself and traveled close to Gonzalez’s home, planning to carry out the murder.

Shinhoster is now in the custody of the Juvenile Services Department.
