Tiger Woods is making a comeback at the 2023 Genesis Invitational, and his performance on Friday has been impressive.
The golf legend shot a 69 in Round 2, putting him five shots behind the leader. Despite some inconsistent play, Woods managed to make the cut and will move on to the weekend rounds.
Woods is playing his first tournament in seven months, having last competed in the Memorial Tournament in July 2020. He is back in action at the Riviera Country Club, the site of his first PGA Tour victory in 1998.
The tournament leaderboard is crowded with some of the best golfers in the world, making Woods’ comeback all the more impressive. He is currently tied for 24th place and could make a big move up the leaderboard with a strong performance on Saturday and Sunday.
Woods is looking to add to his impressive resume, which includes 15 major championships, 82 PGA Tour wins, and five Genesis Invitational titles.
