Tragedy in Quebec: Bus Crash Kills Two Children at Daycare Center Near Montreal

A tragic accident occurred in Sainte-Rose, Quebec, Canada, on Tuesday when a bus crashed into a daycare center, killing two children and injuring six others.

The bus, operated by the Société de transport de Laval (STL), was travelling north of Montreal when it crashed into the building. The two children killed were both under the age of five, according to Quebec’s coroner’s office. The six injured children were taken to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but authorities believe the driver may have been distracted. Witnesses said the bus appeared to be going too fast for the road conditions and that it was not slowing down as it approached the daycare.

The accident has caused an outpouring of grief in the community. Local officials have expressed their condolences and offered support to the families of the victims. The mayor of Sainte-Rose, Pierre-Paul Routhier, said in a statement that he was “devastated” by the news.

This is the second fatal bus crash in the region in the last two months. In January, a bus crashed into a building in Montreal, killing one person and injuring several others.

The bus driver involved in the Sainte-Rose crash has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. The families of the victims are still searching for answers and are hoping for justice.
