Today, tragedy struck the Poplar-White Station library in Memphis, Tennessee, when a man shot an officer and was killed by police.

According to The New York Times, the man had shot an officer before being killed by police. The officer is currently in critical condition.

ABC24 Memphis reported that a second person was also killed in the shooting.

WREG News Channel 3 reported that the shooting occurred at around 10:30 a.m. local time.

Fox News reported that the Memphis Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
