At least 24 people have been killed after a bus plunged off a cliff in Peru.
The accident occurred on a highway between the cities of Chosica and San Mateo, located east of Lima. According to the Peruvian Ministry of Transportation, the bus had been travelling from Lima to Huaraz when it suddenly veered off the road and fell off the cliff.
Witnesses reported that the driver had been speeding prior to the accident and that the brakes failed to stop the bus.
The victims of the accident have yet to be identified, but authorities have confirmed that there were no survivors. The Peruvian Ministry of Transportation is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
The accident has sparked outrage among Peruvians, with many calling for stricter regulations on public transportation. This is the latest in a series of deadly accidents involving buses in Peru, highlighting the need for improved safety measures.
