LAPORTE, Indiana – A tragic case concluded as the mother of 4-year-old Judah Morgan was sentenced to 42 years behind bars for the death of her son, whose young tortured body was found dead in October 2021. LaPorte County Prosecutor Sean Fagan described the sentencing as bringing to a close this horrible tragedy.

The sentencing occurred after Mary Yoder pleaded guilty in August to felony counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in Judah’s death and domestic battery applying to another child in the home. The court heard evidence of video footage showing the family’s horrendous treatment of both Judah and another child in the home.

It was a heartbreaking case of neglect and abuse that led to the death of Judah Morgan. His mother, Mary Yoder, admitted to knowing about the abuse inflicted by her husband, Alan Morgan, who pleaded guilty to murdering Judah and was sentenced to 70 years behind bars.

Witnesses described deplorable conditions within the home where Judah died.
