PIGEON FORGE, TN – Local law enforcement, in coordination with national and international agencies, has successfully apprehended a Bahamian man charged with child abduction and sexual offenses. Angelo McQueen was arrested at a hotel in Pigeon Forge, where he was found with three minors, the U.S. Marshals Service announced.
Following a tip-off, the U.S. Marshals Service’s Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force, along with INTERPOL Washington and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), located and captured McQueen on July 5. The arrest was the result of a multi-agency operation that came together to address the grave charges stemming from McQueen’s alleged criminal activities.
After entering the United States on a temporary visitor visa, McQueen, a Bahamian national, became the subject of an international manhunt. Authorities were alerted to his suspected sexual crimes committed in the Bahamas and were informed of the illegal transport of his biological daughter to the U.S. As the investigation progressed, INTERPOL identified Pigeon Forge as McQueen’s likely hideout, which led to his arrest and the rescue of the children involved.
The three children, whose ages range from 4 to 14, were also from the Bahamas. They have since been placed under the protective care of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, ensuring their safety and welfare post-rescue.
Further investigations revealed McQueen was employed by APDC Cleansing Services, Inc., a recruiting service for international workers, which had him assigned to Dollywood. Following his arrest, Dollywood affirmed McQueen worked backstage and clarified that the staffing service was responsible for his hiring and verification checks. In the wake of this incident, Dollywood announced the termination of its association with APDC, effective August 9, along with plans to part ways with any remaining APDC workers currently contracted at the park.
McQueen is currently detained by ICE as legal proceedings continue. The collaborative efforts of USMS, INTERPOL, and ICE demonstrate a resolute stance against international crime and a commitment to protecting children from exploitation and abduction.
