MAYVILLE, NEW YORK – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Unsolved Crimes unit seeks individuals who may possess information regarding the murder of Yolanda Bindics.

Recently, the Unsolved Crimes team took to social media to announce that public comments made on Topix.com and Topix2.com between 2005 and 2009 have been substantiated. They are specifically reaching out to contributors who went by the user names “Judge It,” “Knowledge is Power,” “Sam the Sham,” as well as individuals identified as “Don” and “Larry” from Fredonia, “Point,” and “AOL.”

In a recent development, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s office secured $100,000 in federal funding for the Unsolved Crimes Unit and Sheriff Criminal Investigation Department. These funds will be allocated towards conducting new private lab testing and addressing the backlog of evidence related to unsolved crimes, working alongside the New York State Trooper Lab, Erie Lab, and FBI Lab.
